Series-M Area Monitoring System
The Applied Control Technologies Series-M Area Monitor System (AMS) is a safety interlock and exhaust monitoring system. The AMS interfaces and manages equipment interlocks with gas delivery systems such as gas cabinets, valve manifold boxes (VMB’s), gas isolation systems and other facilities equipment. Modularity is what gives the Series-M its name.
Series-M systems start with a standard main cabinet that can be expanded. With redundant programmable logic controllers (PLC), the Series-M offers extraordinary flexibility that can utilize logic not possible with other relay-based systems. Using the power of the PLC, users have been able to conserve resources as well as avoid production losses. The touch-screen HMI provides valuable information in the form of equipment status, active alarm summary, alarm history with date and time as well as an I/O status panel.
Over the past twenty years we have specialized in a wide variety of equipment and haveinstalled over 400 systems.
System Components
The main cabinet (MC) includes inputs and outputs (I/O), the system power supply, the PLC, CPU’sand a human-machine-interface(HMI). The MC is capable of running stand-alone without other sub-systems.
The Remote Cabinet (RC) is a slave to the MC. For remote monitoring using Ethernet communication, the MC can accommodate up to 2 Remote Cabinets.
A third component is the Expansion cabinet (EC). The EC expands upon the capabilities of the Main Cabinet with additional I/O. It is a slave to the MC and is available with arange of custom options.
